Croatia Secures €60 Million EU-Approved Support Scheme for Energy-Intensive Industries

On 26 October 2026, the European Commission approved a €60 million Croatian state-aid scheme to compensate eligible energy-intensive companies for higher electricity costs linked to carbon pricing under the EU Emissions Trading System. Eligible businesses may receive compensation for up to 80% of qualifying indirect emission costs, with the scheme covering costs incurred between 2025 and 2030. This creates opportunities for carbon-cost advisers, energy-efficiency consultants and ESG specialists, while HPC can support sustainability assessments, emissions-related research and green-transition consultancy; contact HPC for a quotation.
